Penalty pain for West

West Auckland went out of the Durham Challenge Cup on Tuesday night after losing in a penalty shoot out.

West had twice led through Aaran Wearmouth and Nathan Fisher but a late Dunston equaliser sent the game to penalties.

In the first 5 penalties, Anthony Bell and Nathan Fisher missed their kicks, whilst Adam McHugh saved two Dunston efforts. It was decided in sudden death and, when Ben Wood saw his spot kick saved, Dunston progressed into the third round.
