After 56 years, the League Cup trophy was shining bright in West Auckland’s clubhouse following a dramatic penalty shootout victory over Newcastle Benfield on Easter Monday in what was a night filled with celebrations.
The first award was presented by goalkeeper coach Craig Turns who gave a special award to Andy Coulson for turning up to every training session and on match day, showcasing his fine commitment and enthusiasm to the club.
Club reporter and student Harry Crowe also picked up a award for his social media skills and reports, which are often seen in the Teesdale Mercury.
Amar Purewal picked up two awards – the golden boot for his 24 league goals in Division One this season as well as being voted the supporters player of the year.
Steven Snaith won the goal of the season award for his outstanding 83rd minute strike against Avro in the FA Vase Third Round back in December.
And Tom Price rounded off a superb night by taking home three awards – the players’ player of the year, the managers player of the year and the overall player of the year chosen by the club committee.
Well done to all.
