Champions Durham City provided the final opponents for West Auckland this season and, they left Darlington Road with the points.

Durham led at the break through a penalty before 2 quick fire goals settled the tie in favour of Durham.

Gary Close pulled one back with his first for the Club before John Toft came off the bench and made an instant impression scoring the visitors fourth.

Brian Fairhurst added a late penalty for West who finished the season in 16th place.
