DATE: 23/04/2008 A second half penalty save from Mark Bell to deny Consett's star forward Mattie Moffat helped preserve a point for West Auckland and stutter Consett's bid for second place.
West stunned the hosts with Paul Freary giving them the lead inside 40 seconds with a good finish whereas Ian Maddison was denied in a one on one.
Steven Johnson levelled after this before Moffat was brought on at the break. And he had the chance to give Consett the lead from the spot after a foul by Thomas Louden was punished.
However Moffat put his penalty straight at Bell before heading the rebound onto the bar. Freary and Moffat both missed chances as both sides had chances for all 3 points.
